Romford-based Chartered Accountants firm Clemence Hoar Cummings is celebrating being ‘highly commended’ in the coveted Essex Accountancy Firm of the Year Award 2016.
The event was organised by the South Essex District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), to reward the efforts of practices whose strong professional relationships, commercial awareness and innovative services have helped clients to come through the recession and look ahead with optimism.
The prize-giving ceremony was held at Stock Brook Country Club in Billericay on 19 May.
Clemence Hoar Cummings was one of only two firms awarded the rating in this category. The judges selected Clemence Hoar Cummings for special mention in recognition of the firm’s commitment to high quality services and customer care, having taken particular note of the practice’s adaptability and flexibility in developing itself as a practice that is able to meet today’s constantly changing business needs.
David Belbin, Clemence Hoar Cummings’ Managing Partner, underwent an intensive and thorough interview on 26 April to offer the award’s judges more evidence to support the practice’s bid, which was shortlisted earlier in the month.
He commented: “We were very pleased the ICAEW judges shortlisted Clemence Hoar Cummings for the Accountancy Firm of the Year Award, and are delighted that they selected us for high commendation.
“It is proof that Clemence Hoar Cummings, which has been operating since 1925, remains a dynamic presence in our sector.
“The ICAEW’s assessment of our bid effectively endorses our business strategy and we are proud to have the ICAEW’s acknowledgment of Clemence Hoar Cummings as a highly commended accountancy practice.
“This seal of approval that provides assurance that, following recent changes in the practice, we are headed in right direction and should reassure our clients that our work ethic and standards will continue to benefit them and their businesses.
“I would like to thank my team for its commitment and dedication and I am grateful to our clients for their confidence and trust. The two together have enabled Clemence Hoar Cummings to expand and appoint four additional staff with the talents and customer care skills we insist they bring to the firm to continue its delivery of proven high quality services to local businesses and to our community.”
